Chicago is one of the most vibrant cities in the United States. A commercial, cultural and educational centre it has a uniqueness of its own drawing millions of people annually as tourists. A major fire in 1871 had then destroyed a third of the city and great efforts were made to adorn the city with steel-high risings and the concept of the skyscrapers got on.
