The Incredible Charm of Dubai
Dubai is one of the Emirates of the United Arab Emirates, majestically lying on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf. It has attained the status of a global city and its economy no longer is dominated by revenues from oil and natural gas. As a great tourist centre and commercial hub, it caters to the needs of discerning tourists.
Dubai has a hoary past, Dubai Creek in the distant past serving as a harbour and providing sea link to many civilisations of the past. Its present, however, is deeply rooted in Islam. But there are extensive archaeological artifacts still being unearthed showing the connection with the dim past.
The transformation of Dubai from 1990s has no parallel at all in the construction activities throughout the world. The present Dubai is set to go further in constructing tallest structures. The magnificence in shopping malls, residential buildings, amusement parks or trade centres cannot be just described in mere words.

It is incredible that so much changes have come about in the landscape of Dubai in the last two decades: you are going to have an underwater hotel, dozens of artificial islands housing extravagant buildings for commercial, residential and recreational purposes. Burj-al Arab, Jumeriah Emirates Tower, 21st Century Tower , Chelsea Tower, The Tower are some coming under the above top tallest buildings list. Each has a distinct grandeur, to say the least. The appetite for construction has not lessened nor does the creative output show a tendency for a sedate approach! The Palm Islands have been created in the water front by superior Dutch dredging technology and makes the visitors marvel at man’s creativity!
There is an incredible Ski Centre, Ski Dubai which has no parallel at all. 22,500 sq. metres are covered with snow round the year and artificial temperature of -1 Celsius to 2 degrees Celsius maintained throughout the year. There are great ski adventures to be had here: dress requirements are taken care of by the management! You have the additional bones of the largest indoor snow park in the campus!
Facilities for Shopping are incredible in Dubai. In fact it is now-a-days referred to as the Great Shopping Centre. There are dozens of great malls specialising in different consumer needs. In addition there are special attractions during tourist seasons.
Al Fahidi Fort, Dubai Museum are but two of the representative sight seeing places among hundreds of diverse places of interest. There are more than a dozen great museums which show the thoughtful attitude of the administration to disseminate information about men’s quest for knowledge in many areas of human activities. There are plenty of places of dining and the discerning gourmet will have a field day in Dubai with no dearth of any type of food!
The grand Dubai Race course and many sports activities have been attracting exclusive visitors devoted to the particular type of sports and other physical activities. The Le Royal Meridian Beach and Spa is another attraction in Dubai where you can totally relax yourself.
Deep sea fishing, auto sport and golf too can be had at Dubai. There is no lack of great restaurants for dining and spending a pleasant night out.
There are countless hotels right from top star status to reasonably affordable ones for the average tourists. Comfort, class, elegance and particular attention to the needs of the traveller are all bywords in the hospitality industry here.
