The irresistible Marbella

A small city in Spain’s Andalusia, Marbella is noted as a beautify tourist centre for the very rich in Europe for the last sixty years. Along with Puerto Bonus, it is recognised as a beautiful sea-side resort as well, catering especially to the needs of the aristocratic golf-lovers. But in the last decade or so it has been drawing substantial number of visitors from different parts of Europe and from all over the world from a discerning set of tourists who love exclusive charms offered by Marbella.

Despite the smallness, Marbella has great attractions for the tourists. Though in the last century it was the exclusive domain of the very affluent in Europe, it has enough public place and show pieces to enthrall eager tourists who are simply lost in the admirable ambience and grace of the place.

Marbella’s Piruli is made up of glass, copper and marble and is a visual treat. It is a simple but elegant monument and holds you spell-bound for its aesthetic charm! So is Piruli near West End of the city, again a tower in plaza surroundings.

A statue of Don Jamie is noteworthy as it portrays the person who was the local exclusive society’s typical example in making Marbella what it was during his time. The air of jauntiness and leisurely aura of the statue typified the aristocratic elements which flocked to the place for several decades to enjoy untrammelled pleasures.

One of the attractions in the place is a leisurely drive in horse drawn open carriage through the city. This will give you a sense of immense strength which marked the spirit of the aristocracy of Europe when the automobiles of the present days were yet to make their appearance. The distinction of travelling by carriage is even now conferring a unique sense of privilege and exclusiveness!

Miramar Complex is a new addition to the landscape having restaurants, bar and a roof-top which provides you a grand view of the open seas. There is, again, the relaxed atmosphere and a total repose and peace pervading you in the domain of this holiday resort where there is no jostle of crowds.

La Fontanilla Beach, though just 800 m. long offers you a grand view of the sea. A gentle walk in the Beach gives you a very carefree attitude and makes you feel peace with yourself and the world. The waves too appear to be gently soothing your emotions and there is an unmatched inwards welling up from the hearts.

One of the local attractions is the statue of water-skiing damsel, though for years it used to be out in the sea viewed from afar. This conveys an air of freedom from any type of shackles!

Park de la Contituticion is a nice park. There are avenues and plenty of space to make you totally forget the outside world and you feel like sitting and relaxing for hours! It might appear odd that a park should so enthrall but probably the natural settings induce such an atmosphere.

The nearby Puerto Banus has equally interesting sights to offer and invariably the trip to Marbella is associated with a sojourn in Puerto Banus as well.

Cars are available in plenty to be hired in Marbella and one can easily visit the nearby Puerto Banus and other places.
