Rome, The Eternal Charm 

Rome has had an enviable history, having conquered most of Europe and beyond even two thousand years back. It set the standards for Empire-building, unity and amity with discipline as the watchword. Rome, therefore, offers vast and varied archaeological treasures, monuments and museums. Still the seat of the headquarters of Catholic faith, its place in the religious quest of mankind is unique and unapproachable by other cities. But modern Rome is another magnet to draw huge number of tourists who admire its myriad beauties of the past, medieval and the present diversities. Rome set the norms for the rest of the then known world in many areas of human endeavour and continues to do so even now.

The Rome under papal jurisdiction has its pious attractions to the Catholics and the rest too for the grand structures of faith. The Roman aqueducts were built and maintained by the civic authorities for potable water supply to its citizens. Many of the present aqueducts can be admired for their elegant construction: despite ornamentation, they have even now great utilitarian value.

You don’t have to be under the impression that only the distinct religious past is Rome’s appeal. Far from it. The present city is one of the most dynamic ones and its business, entertainment, food, wines, sports, theatre and music are all coveted upon. The old proverb “Rome was not built in a day” is valid for the present day diversions and merriments as well as people are consciously out to enjoy the niceties of life as well.
